In this webinar, we will present our voting recommendations for climate-conscious investors for the 2023 Annual General Meeting season.<\/p>\n

The 2023 AGM season takes place against the backdrop of the climate crisis, which is being felt across the globe. Greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise and, the largest members of the Net-Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA) continue to support large fossil fuel developers, having by August 2022 provided US$269 billion in loans and underwriting since joining the alliance. At the same time, energy companies and financial institutions have announced record profits for 2022, benefitting from the fossil fuels that are driving climate change.<\/p>\n

In this context, the question of how to use these super-profits is crucial. Will they be used to finance solutions to the climate emergency, or will they be used to finance business as usual, and continue to drive climate change? How can investors act to encourage companies to finance the energy transition?<\/p>\n

This webinar will provide some answers to these questions by looking at the issue of voting at 2023 shareholders' meetings. We will present the issues around Say on Climate votes and climate shareholder resolutions in the energy, utilities and finance sectors.<\/p>\n

More broadly, we will also present voting recommendations for investors to ensure that climate is not limited to thematic resolutions but is at the heart of other corporate governance resolutions.<\/p>\n

We will alternate between general recommendations for all AGMs and specific recommendations using case studies. These will focus on high-emitting companies that play a key role in the energy transition.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>
