Your central bank likes to keep a low profile but as a key role to play in the construction of a more sustainable economy and society. <\/span><\/p>\n

With the European Central Bank (ECB)<\/u><\/a>, your national bank provides cash to financial actors therefore setting loan availability and standards for the whole economy. Since 2014, and especially in the context of the Covid crisis, they buy bonds from public institutions, corporations and financial players. <\/span><\/p>\n

Today, <\/span>they do all these things – and more – without taking the climate impacts of their actions into account<\/b>. By doing so, <\/span>they <\/b>finance polluting companies<\/a><\/u><\/b> and maintain a high-carbon economy<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Quietly, and despite the climate objectives of other European institutions, your national central bank and the ECB are fueling climate chaos. <\/span><\/p>\n
