Fracked gas: how many French banks will support the South Texas export projects?

While they have committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 by following a 1.5°C trajectory by joining the Net Zero Banking Alliance, several banks could support the development of fracked gas export projects in South Texas: Texas LNG, Rio Grande LNG and Rio Bravo Pipeline. What about French banks? Although BNP Paribas backed away from supporting these projects in 2017, Crédit Agricole, Societe Generale and Banque Populaire Caisse d’Epargne could, for their part, participate in financing them. In a letter sent to the Net Zero Banking Alliance and the three major French banks, 38 NGOs call on financial institutions not to provide financial support to these projects, which would violate human rights, damage ecosystems and exacerbate the climate crisis
