Due Diligence Directive: European Parliament passes milestone, but loopholes persist

On Thursday June 1, MEPs voted in favor of the European Parliament’s position on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive. Our organizations, which have been campaigning for many years for binding legislation at European level, welcome its adoption in plenary, but deplore the text’s serious shortcomings. As the final period of negotiations gets underway, we also draw attention to the growing influence of lobbies in the legislative process.
