It’s time to take action to finance the ecological transition. This is the slogan underpinning the Paris financial institutions’ meeting on Monday 22 April 2024, organized by the Institut de la Finance Durable. Because financing solutions will not meet the objectives of reducing greenhouse gas emissions unless efforts are made at the same time to reduce financing for fossil fuels, Reclaim Finance is taking advantage of this key event to take stock of the practices of investors, in this case asset managers, against the first imperative: to halt oil and gas expansion. The verdict is clear: while 9 asset managers have adopted measures restricting new investment in oil and gas expansion, the majority have yet to act.
