The French financial industry lobby delivers an empty roadmap to government

Paris, March 10^th, 2022 – During a talk organized by the French Presidency of the European Union on the energy transition, Yves Perrier, Chairman of Amundi and Vice-Chairman of Paris Europlace, quietly delivered the report commissioned by Bruno Le Maire on the alignment of French financial institutions with the objectives of the Paris Agreement. Reclaim Finance, together with Oxfam and Friends of the Earth France, calls the report a mere window dressing exercise, which offers no concrete and immediate solutions to reduce the support of banks, insurers and investors to fossil fuels. We call on the French government and the election candidates to take the measure of the urgency and to sanction the French financiers who continue to fuel the expansion of coal, oil and gas.
