Paris, October 26, 2022 – On the eve of Climate Finance Day, the Caisse des Dépôts Group (CDC) has just announced new measures on climate change. While Caisse des Dépôts has indicated that it will no longer directly support the development of new oil and gas projects and that it will strengthen its shareholder dialogue with companies in these sectors, it does not have the means to fully commit itself to the fight against oil and gas expansion and to reduce the sector’s emissions in line with the objective of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Reclaim Finance calls on the group to condition its new investments, as does its subsidiary CNP Assurances, to a halt in the development of new oil and gas production projects.
