Paris, March 27, 2023: A month before its Annual General Meeting, Engie has published a shareholder resolution filed by 16 investors asking the company to organize a Say on Climate, a consultative vote on its climate strategy. Reclaim Finance welcomes the strong signal sent by investors on the need for Engie to increase the ambition and granularity of its climate plan and to strengthen shareholder dialogue. However, the NGO regrets the lack of binding requirements in this timid resolution, and calls on the government to legislate in order to regulate the Say on Climate and strengthen shareholders’ rights to file resolutions.
