Open letter to Elisabeth Borne for an SRI label without greenwashing.

Letter co-signed by over 60 individuals and representatives from various associations, the business sector, and academia.

Paris, October 30, 2023 – In an open letter to Elisabeth Borne, more than 60 individuals and representatives from the business sector, academia and various organisations, including Lucie Pinson, Jean-Marc Jancovici, Jean Jouzel, Cécile Duflot, François Gemenne, and Claire Nouvian, have called for companies that are involved in new fossil fuel projects to be excluded from the French socially responsible investment (SRI) label. They urge the Prime Minister not to “institutionalize greenwashing” by allowing a state-endorsed label for “responsible investment” to include investments in oil and gas companies with expansion strategies that conflict with France’s climate goals.
