SRI Label reform: a majority of French people oppose greenwashing

Six out of 10 French people believe that a fund labelled “responsible” should not invest in companies developing new coal, oil and gas projects. These are the findings of a new Opinion Way survey for Reclaim Finance, published in Novethic. The poll comes ahead of a decision by the French goverment on the reform of the SRI (Socially Responsible Investment) label. There are fears that the government will remove a key criterion designed to exclude major oil and gas companies. Reclaim Finance is calling on French finance minister Bruno Le Maire to listen to the views of the French people and give the SRI label the credibility it lacks.
