After revelations by Agence France-Presse (AFP), the French Banking Federation (FBF) has finally made public its position on the future “omnibus” deregulation law. The representative of French banks goes very far in its demands regarding European texts on due diligence and non-financial reporting. Far from tackling an ‘administrative burden’, the FBF is indeed lobbying for renouncing the ambition and spirit of these texts, in a complete disregard of human rights and the environment. Reclaim Finance therefore calls on the French banks it represents to publicly break with this position.
