In June 2025, MAIF decided to further strengthen its commitment to ending support for oil and gas expansion, becoming the third life insurer to pledge to stop making new investments in companies developing new midstream oil and gas projects, including companies planning new liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals. By the end of 2025, the life insurer will also divest the securities of those same companies already held in its portfolio, with the exception of the French utility company ENGIE.
