2022 Scorecard on Insurance, Fossil Fuels and the Climate Emergence (Insure Our Future)

The Insure Our Future campaign reveals the latest climate progress of the world’s 30 largest insurers and reinsurers in its 6th edition of the nsurance Scorecard. While more and more insurers and reinsurers are taking a stand against oil and gas expansion, France’s AXA and SCOR have not yet committed to stop covering new gas fields, which are incompatible with the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. AXA thus remains behind Allianz, which maintains its leading position, and SCOR moves behind Munich Re, which enters the top 10 thanks to its new sectoral policy. Reclaim Finance calls on AXA and SCOR, as founding members of the Net Zero Insurance Alliance (NZIA), to take their turn in committing against oil and gas expansion.
