In the context of the climate emergency, asset owners are increasingly concerned about systemic climate risks, to which they are vulnerable in the long term. Many of them have committed to transition their investment portfolios to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in alignment with a 1.5°C pathway. Since most asset owners invest indirectly by delegating investment decisions to asset managers, how can they ensure these asset managers properly address climate risks? Are the activities of asset managers aligned with the long term interests of asset owners?

In this webinar, we will discuss the main findings of academic research on evidence-based climate impact for asset owners. We will also present the findings of the recent assessment of the climate practices of large asset managers published by Reclaim Finance. Lastly, we will provide recommendations for climate-conscious asset owners regarding the selection and engagement of their managers, and we will present some best practices among asset owners.
