Monday, October 24, 2022 – As the reinsurance industry has been meeting since Sunday in Baden-Baden to discuss the annual renewal of reinsurance contracts, the Insure Our Future campaign is calling on the reinsurers in attendance to stop exacerbating the climate crisis by stopping covering fossil fuel risks and supporting a rapid transition to renewable energy. Will SCOR, present in Baden-Baden, prioritize its climate commitments over its commercial objectives? While Munich Re, Swiss Re and Hannover Re have all announced that they will no longer cover new oil and gas fields in 2022, Insure Our Future and Reclaim Finance are calling on SCOR to follow its competitors as soon as possible by excluding new gas fields from its reinsurance portfolios.
