Paris, April 13, 2023 – Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale has just announced new measures for the oil and gas sector. They complete the policy announced last December which had been criticized for ignoring companies developing new oil and gas fields, contrary to the commitments made by the group in 2021. Reclaim Finance welcomes the group’s willingness to rectify the situation but regrets the clumsy approach which focuses on lowering production when the stated objective is to stop oil and gas expansion. Above all, Reclaim Finance deplores the absence of measures on the investment subsidiaries which will be able to continue to provide capital that will contribute to the deployment of new hydrocarbon projects, such as those planned by TotalEnergies or Eni.
